The short answer

Implants replace the tooth root, so they stay fixed and keep your jaw bone healthy. Dentures cost less and come quicker, but they rest on the gum and can slip as the bone changes. The right choice comes down to your mouth, your health and your budget.

Still torn? The consult that settles it is free, normally $347. Request it and we'll call you to arrange your visit and 3D scan.

Which one fits you?

  • Choose dental implants if

    • You want a fixed tooth you never take out.
    • You want to protect the jaw bone under the gap.
    • You're replacing one tooth or a few, and want the rest left alone.
    • You're happy to pay more up front for a fix that can last decades.
  • Choose dentures if

    • You want the lower up-front cost.
    • You're replacing many teeth at once.
    • You'd rather avoid surgery.
    • You want new teeth in weeks, not months.
Modern practice but who still take the time to explain things, give options, make you feel relaxed and take good care of you.

What we'd check at your consult

A page can't see your mouth. Here's what we check before we give you a real answer.

  • A 3D scan of your jaw, to see how much bone you have. Implants need enough bone, and grafting can rebuild it.
  • The health of your gums and the teeth you still have.
  • Your bite, and what the gap is doing to the teeth around it.
  • Your health history, which can shape what we recommend.
  • Your budget and timeline, with a clear written quote for each option before anything starts.

The right answer depends on your mouth. A consult and scan settles it.

There's a middle option

A denture can be anchored onto a few small implants. It clips firmly in place and stops slipping, but still comes out to clean. For a full jaw, All-on-4 fixes a complete set of teeth onto four implants.

Implants vs dentures: common questions

Can I switch from dentures to implants later?

Often, yes. The catch is that bone slowly shrinks under a denture, so the longer you wait, the less bone there may be to work with. Grafting can rebuild it. A 3D scan shows exactly where you stand.

Is there an option between the two?

Yes. A denture can be anchored onto a few small implants so it clips firmly in place and stops slipping, but still comes out to clean. For a full jaw, All-on-4 fixes a complete set of teeth onto four implants.

I was told I don't have enough bone for implants. Is that final?

Often not. Grafting can rebuild bone, and angled implant techniques make the most of the bone you have. The only way to know your options is a 3D scan of your jaw.

Which costs less over time?

A denture costs less up front. It can need relining or replacing as the bone changes, while a well-cared-for implant can last decades. We give you a clear written quote for each path so you can compare properly.

Does getting an implant hurt?

The implant is placed with the area fully numbed, so you shouldn't feel pain during it. There can be some soreness afterwards, usually handled with simple pain relief. Sedation options are available if you're anxious.
