All-on-4 vs dentures: fixed teeth or removable?

A full set fixed in, or one that comes out at night? Here's the honest difference.

The short answer

All-on-4 fixes a full set of teeth onto four implants. They stay in, you bite firmly, and your jaw bone keeps working. A full denture costs less and skips surgery, but it rests on the gum and can move. Your bone, health and budget decide.

Still torn? The consult that settles it is free, normally $347. Request it and we'll call you to arrange your visit and 3D scan.

What we'd check at your consult

Whether All-on-4 is possible for you comes down to what's in your jaw. Here's what we check.

  • A 3D scan, to find the strongest bone in your jaw. Angled posts make the most of what you have.
  • Your gums and any teeth that are failing.
  • Your health history and any medicines that matter for surgery.
  • Whether teeth fitted the same day are realistic for you.
  • A clear written quote for each path, including an implant-secured denture, before you decide.

The right answer depends on your mouth. A consult and scan settles it.

There's a middle option

An implant-secured denture clips onto a few small implants. It stops the slipping for less than a fixed full set, but still comes out to clean. We'll show you all three side by side, with a clear price for each.

All-on-4 vs dentures: common questions

My denture keeps slipping. Is All-on-4 my only option?

No. An implant-secured denture clips onto a few small implants and stops the slipping, at a lower cost than a fixed full set. All-on-4 is the step up: fixed teeth that never come out. We'll show you both.

I've worn dentures for years. Is it too late for implants?

Often not. Bone does shrink under a denture, but angled All-on-4 posts are designed to make the most of the bone you have, and grafting can rebuild more. A 3D scan gives you a straight answer.

Do All-on-4 teeth come out at night?

No. They're fixed to the four implants and stay in. That's the main difference from a denture, which sits on the gum and comes out to clean.

Can I really get teeth in one day?

In many cases, yes. The implants are placed and a full set of fixed teeth can often go on the same day. Whether that's possible for you depends on a check and a scan.

Is All-on-4 surgery a big deal?

It's a bigger day than a filling, and we treat it that way. The area is fully numbed, and sedation options run from light relaxation to deeper sleep. There can be soreness afterwards, managed with simple pain relief and clear aftercare.
