How Invisalign works
Four steps. No surprises.
- Step 1 Consult and scan
Your dentist checks your teeth, gums and bite, and maps out a plan made for your mouth.
- Step 2 Your clear aligners
You get a series of custom clear aligners. You wear each set for a couple of weeks, then move to the next.
- Step 3 Gentle, steady progress
Each set nudges your teeth a little closer to straight. You take them out to eat, brush and floss as normal.
- Step 4 Your new smile
Most plans take around 12 to 18 months. We'll talk about keeping your results once you're done.

Invisalign questions
Will people notice I'm wearing them?
Most people won't. The aligners are clear and fit closely over your teeth, so they're hard to spot in everyday situations. That's the main reason adults choose them over metal braces.
Can I eat normally?
Yes, because you take the aligners out to eat. There's no list of foods to avoid like with fixed braces. You just remove them for meals, clean your teeth, and pop them back in.
How long does it take?
It depends on how much your teeth need to move. Some people finish in a few months, others take longer. You'll get an idea of your own timeline at your consult once we've looked at your teeth.
Is it good for teens?
It can be a good fit for many teens, especially those who'd feel self-conscious in metal braces. Success does depend on wearing the aligners as directed, so we'll talk honestly with you and your teen about that at the consult.
How much does Invisalign cost?
