Portrait of Dr Melinda Oxley-Long

Melinda has travelled, lived and practiced dentistry in many parts of the world. She grew up and completed schooling in both Perth, Western Australia and Greeley, Colorado in the USA. Since then she has lived in Canberra, graduated university in Western Australia, moved to the UK for four years, and finally found herself in Brisbane. In Perth, Melinda obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science in 1992 from the University of Western Australia, and she is currently completing her Master's Degree at Southern Cross University. An experienced and much-loved team member, one of her favourite parts of the job is meeting people and hearing their stories, and she finds dentistry rewarding as she enjoys helping patients with their oral health needs. Melinda has three children, two 'fur babies' and regularly hosts exchange students, meaning she tends to have a house full of teenagers. She also speaks German. In her spare time, Melinda loves to watch her daughter compete in sport, and music has a huge place in her life, with everyone in her family playing an instrument.
