How braces work with us
Four steps. No surprises.
- Step 1 Consult and plan
Your dentist checks your teeth and bite, takes any scans or x-rays needed, and maps out whether braces or aligners fit you best.
- Step 2 Fit your braces
We attach the brackets and wire gently. You'll get tips on cleaning around them and what to expect in the first few days.
- Step 3 Regular adjustments
You come in every few weeks so we can adjust the wire and keep your teeth moving steadily, on schedule for your plan.
- Step 4 Off and protected
Once your teeth are where they should be, we remove the braces and talk you through a retainer to hold the new position.

Braces questions
Braces or aligners, which do I need?
It depends on your teeth. Aligners suit many cases and are near-invisible, but braces handle bigger rotations and trickier bites better, and they work around the clock without you having to remember anything. We'll compare both honestly at your consult and help you choose.
Do braces hurt?
Your teeth can feel tender for a few days after they're fitted and after each adjustment, as they start to move. It usually settles quickly, and simple pain relief helps. We'll show you how to manage it and ease any spots that rub.
Can adults get braces, or are they just for teens?
Adults are very welcome. Teeth keep moving all through life, so it's never too late to straighten them. If you'd rather something less visible, we can talk about tooth-coloured brackets or clear aligners as well.
How long will I wear them?
That depends on how far your teeth need to move, so we can't give a one-size answer. After we've looked at your teeth and bite at the consult, your dentist will give you a realistic timeline for your case. Results vary from person to person.
Will I need a retainer afterwards?
Yes. Teeth naturally drift over time, so a retainer helps hold your new smile in place once the braces come off. We'll explain your retainer options and how to look after them so your results can last.
